Willian drops Spurs hint?

Willian has long been linked with leaving Chelsea, with most reports naming Barcelona as his likely destination.

However, the Brazil international recently spoke to Player’s Tribune (as relayed by Mirror) about how much he loves living in London. He joined Chelsea from Anzhi Makhachkala back in 2013, and he and his family feel completely settled in the British capital after six and a half years of living there. In fact, he says he has recently passed the test for British citizenship.

The 31-year-old winger was also asked about the best manager he has worked with, and he spoke glowingly about Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho. It was Mourinho who brought him to Chelsea, and the pair of them won the Premier League and the League Cup in 2015 for the Blues together. Mourinho was sacked later that year, but Willian says their relationship remained intact, and they still exchange messages from time to time.

So after all the links with Barcelona, could Willian simply move across London instead?

Spurs visited Stamford Bridge today (Saturday) and suffered defeat as Olivier Giroud and Marcos Alonso scored for Chelsea, before an Antonio Rudiger own-goal provided some consolation for Mourinho’s men.
