Competition: National League

Market: Wrexham win

Odds: 5/7 @ 888sport

Only looking to strengthen their spot in the play-off places on Tuesday night, Wrexham will welcome Grimsby to the Racecourse Ground.

Starting with the hosts, last seen over the weekend mounting a second-half comeback away at Yeovil, the mood in Wrexham’s camp should be at a real high. Eventually claiming a 2-1 win away from the Racecourse Ground, Phil Parkinson’s men are sat in pole position to clinch a play-off spot this season. Looking to lay down another marker here, it should be noted that the Reds have won six of their last seven matchups across all formats. Backed by the Hollywood duo of Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds after a stunning takeover last year, Tuesday’s hosts have also continued to shine with their performances on home soil. Including a 2-0 win against fellow play-off contenders Bromley, Wrexham have lost just a single contest in front of their own supporters throughout the 2021/22 campaign.

As for the visitors, while Grimsby might have enjoyed a stellar purple patch back in October, Paul Hurst’s men have rather drastically failed to keep up that momentum. Last seen over the weekend getting hit with a 2-1 loss against Bromley on home soil, the Mariners have found themselves come tumbling down the National League table. In fact, including a thumping 4-0 defeat at the hands of Stockport last month, the one-time Southend boss has seen his side win just one of their last eight outings, a run that stems back to November 19th. Likewise, knowing they face a stern test on the road here, Grimsby have also gained a reputation for their rather glaring problems away from Blundell Park. Losing each of their last seven straight contests outside of Lincolnshire, we’re backing a home win here.
