Zaha close to Manchester City move

Despite claiming he wouldn’t be leaving Selhurst Park in April, Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha seems to be close to a move to the Etihad this summer.

A report in the Mirror claims a deal is close to completion as Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola looks to add to his squad options. The newly-crowned Premier League champions would pay  £50million to secure the services of the winger.

City had an offer of  £60million for Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez turned down, but they are still determined to bring in a quality wide attacker. Zaha has had a fantastic season with the Eagles and now Guardiola sees him as a good fit for the role he requires. The addition of the 25-year-old Ivorian, who was considered surplus to requirements at Manchester United only four years ago, would make the part of the champions’ squad already containing the likes of Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane and Bernardo Silva, truly formidable.
