Bernardo Silva on Man City: I’ll never feel the same way about another team

Bernardo Silva said he will never feel the same way about any other club as he does Manchester City.

Silva is leaving City after a nine-year stint, having joined them from Monaco in 2017.

The Portugal international has been integral under Pep Guardiola, who is also departing the club, having led City to 20 trophies.

Silva, Guardiola and John Stones could not bow out with a win on Sunday, as City went down 2-1 to Aston Villa.

"It's really tough to put into words my feeling towards Man City, towards you guys, because I don't think I will ever feel the same about another team in my life," Silva said in a post-match speech to the crowd at the Etihad Stadium.

"The love I got from this club, from you guys, I doubt I will get it again. So thank you so much.

"All the memories we have together, with my brothers, with you, the staff, this is a family. It will forever be my family and I am really grateful."

Silva leaves City with 304 Premier League appearances under his belt, second only to David Silva (309) for the club.

His 50 league assists ranks third in City's all-time Premier League record books.

Silva was taken off in the 59th minute against Villa to receive a standing ovation, will Ollie Watkins' double sealing a comeback win for Unai Emery's team, who finished fourth.
