Paris Saint-Germain opened up a four-point lead over Lens at the top of Ligue 1 with a 3-1 victory over Toulouse on Friday.

Ousmane Dembele once again starred for Luis Enrique’s side, scoring either side of Rasmus Nicolaisen’s looping header before Goncalo Ramos secured a routine victory at the Parc des Princes.

It was a fast start from the Parisians as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia forced Guillaume Restes into two early saves before Dembele also flashed a shot wide of the goal inside the opening 15 minutes.

PSG eventually made their breakthrough in the 23rd minute as Dembele scored a stunning volley from the edge of the box, but their lead only lasted four minutes as an error from Matvey Safonov in the PSG goal allowed Nicolaisen to send his header into the far corner.

Nevertheless, PSG were back ahead shortly after the half-hour mark. Lee Kang-in’s inswinging corner was flicked on at the near post by Kvaratskhelia, and Dembele was unmarked to tap in from inside the six-yard box.

The Frenchman saw a third ruled out for offside before Willian Pacho and Kvaratskhelia both went close to scoring a third for PSG in the final 30 minutes, though it eventually came through Ramos, whose curling effort from range cannoned in off the post.

Data Debrief: Dembele at the double

Despite the narrow scoreline, it was a dominant display from PSG, who accumulated 1.78 expected goals (xG) from 17 shots to Toulouse’s 0.16 from five attempts.

Dembele’s brace means he has now scored 41 goals in 62 matches across all competitions since January 2025; he scored 40 in 202 matches between January 2019 and December 2024.

Kvaratskhelia, meanwhile, deserved more than just an assist. He won all 13 of his duels (match-high), completed all three of his dribbles, won four of his five tackles (match-high), created the second-most chances (three) and recorded the most shots (six).
