A Bola has learned that Sporting winger Diego Capel has been given permission to leave the club in the January transfer window.

The Spaniard remains one of club’s highest earners, but he is no longer playing an important role in the team, meaning a winter exit is on the cards.

According to A Bola, Sporting chiefs have decided to allow Capel to leave this January, albeit only on loan until the end of the season.

The latest reports suggest that Turkish giants Fenerbahce are keen on his services, and they are expected to come forward with an official proposal in the coming days.

Diego Capel, 26, joined Sporting from Sevilla back in 2011 and has since featured in 90 Primeira Liga matches, scoring 10 goals in the process.

He lost his place at the starting line-up at the start of the current campaign and only went to start one league match.
