Ajax are doing all the right things this season. Despite still being couple of points behind PSV Eindhoven in their race for Eredivisie title, they are in Champions League quarterfinals for the first time since 2003 and have sold Frenkie De Jong to Barcelona, for a deal that could potentially be worth as much as €90m.
And now the Amsterdam-based club confirmed the signing of Razvan Marin. Ajax signed the Romania international for €12.5m in a deal that could see the club find another coup in the grand scheme. Marin has been hailed as the heir to Frenkie De Jong and as his replacement and if he performs anywhere near the levels reached by the Dutchman, then Ajax could be in for another big transfer in a couple of years.
Marin said after signing the contract he is aware of the comparison with De Jong, but he pointed out he is a more dynamic, attacking player than De Jong.
