Juventus striker Amauri says he wants to be back playing football soon and hopes a move to Fiorentina can be sewn up quickly.

The ex-Palermo marksman has not made any appearances for the Turin giants since Antonio Conte took charge in the off-season, and is actively looking for a new club in the January transfer window.

Fiorentina are in the market for a new forward after selling Alberto Gilardino to Genoa, and have earmarked the 31-year-old Brazilian as a potential replacement.

“I hope that the deal will be closed quickly,” Amauri told Corriere dello Sport.

“I’m training hard and waiting to move as soon as possible; the two clubs are talking about it.”

Amauri turned down moves to a number of clubs during the off-season to try and fight for a place in the Juventus starting line-up, but is now keen to get back to playing regular first-team football.
