Ancelotti: First England, then Roma

Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti said he will coach Roma again but, for the time being, wants to return to the Premier League.

Ancelotti has been out of work since he was dismissed from Stamford Bridge in May and, although he has plans for Roma, he wants to coach again in England first.

“One day I’ll go back to Roma, I think, because it is where I spent most of my time as a footballer,” Ancelotti told Sky Sport Italia.

“My desire now remains the same; that after coaching in the Premier League I want to remain training there.”

Current boss Luis Enrique is under pressure on the Stadio Olimpico bench, but the 52-year-old feels the capital-city outfit are on the right track.

“I think it’s important to keep their nerve, especially the club, the coach and players, because the road they have taken is certainly very difficult. However, I believe it is also the right one, which can give positive them results in the future,” he said.

Ancelotti has coached both AC Milan and Juventus in the past, and feels that the Scudetto holders must beware of Antonio Conte’s men.

“If I was on the Milan bench I would be worried about Juve because they have enthusiasm, players in great form, and are not engaged in other competitions,” he said.

“At the same time, Juventus must play against a team that has experience and quality. Milan are used to fighting to the end of the season and have no problems under pressure.

“It is a very exciting fight.”
