Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti has played down his status ahead of his first competitive game in charge of the French outfit.
The Italian, who has previously won the Champions League twice with AC Milan along with a handful of other trophies, will take his team to Locmine on Sunday in the Coupe de France.
Ancelotti spoke of his delight at taking his first management job in France and how he is looking forward to the game this weekend.
“I am very happy to be in France to hopefully lead the team to the championship. I hope to have a good relationship with other coaches in Ligue 1,” he told the club’s official website.
“I’m not a superstar, just a coach. I like working, I like football and I want to do my best here.”
“I’m excited (about the Locmine match). It’s an important game for us. We want to have a good run in this competition. It is important to try and win everything. I want my team to play a good game and show great attitude and personality but above all, I want a win.”
“I know little about Locmine. I saw a video of one of their games but the image was not very clear although I did manage to get an idea about their style.”
Ancelotti confirmed a number of players would miss the match through injury.
“Chantome Clement, Jeremy Menez, Blaise Matuidi and Kevin Gameiro are all unavailable but they should resume training next week,” he said.
Ancelotti was appointed PSG coach last week after parting ways with Chelsea in the summer of 2011.
