Angola have announced their 23-man preliminary squad for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

Coach Lito Vidigal has an experienced team at his disposal, and the nation will be expecting a great deal from their heroes in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea when the tournament kicks off on January 21.

Former German under-21 international striker Nando Rafael has been included in the squad, but it is unclear whether the Angolans will be able to use him at the tournament as his change of international status still needs to be completed by world football governing body FIFA.

A trio of Angolans will make the trip to the 2012 tournament having been present at the last three editions of the competition – defender Kali and strikers Flavio and Love Cabungula.

Angola are placed in Group B alongside Burkina Faso, favourites the Ivory Coast and east African representatives Sudan.

Midfielders – Andre Makanga, Dede, Gilberto, Mabina, Miguel, Osorio, Xara
