Barcelona target Kobbie Mainoo to replace Gavi

Barcelona are interested in signing Kobbie Mainoo from Manchester United in the January transfer window, according to Fichajes. Gavi has suffered a long-term injury and will be on the sidelines for a number of months, with last season’s La Liga winners now looking at a potential deal for Mainoo.

Mainoo wanted to leave Man United on a loan deal in the summer of 2025, but the Red Devils stopped him from leaving. The midfielder is not guaranteed a place in Man United manager Ruben Amorim’s starting line-up, and it is unlikely that things will change for him anytime soon.

Barcelona plan to ask Man United to sign Mainoo on a loan deal with the option to make the deal permanent. It will be interesting to see what the Premier League club do if indeed they get an offer for Mainoo from Barca, who are aiming to win the La Liga title for the second season in a row as well as win the UEFA Champions League.
