Barcelona target Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez

Barcelona are interested in signing Lisandro Martinez from Manchester United in the summer of 2026, according to Fichajes. The Spanish giants are looking for a left-sided centre-back, and the defending champions’ manager, Hansi Flick, have identified Martinez as the perfect player.

Fichajes notes: ‘The German coach particularly values the clean ball distribution and aggressiveness in individual duels that characterise the international. 

‘For Flick’s high-pressing system, having a centre-back capable of breaking lines with passing is an absolutely fundamental tactical advantage.

‘In addition, the arrival of a profile like Lisandro Martinez would serve as an experience boost for the emerging talents from La Masía. Players like Pau Cubarsi or Eric García would benefit from the leadership and game reading of a seasoned professional.

‘Within the Catalan club, they consider the versatility of the Argentine, capable of also playing as a full-back if required, as a valuable asset.
