Bayern Munich defender Daniel Van Buyten claims there are four clubs interested in his signature.
The Belgium international has surprised many by being a key part of Jupp Heynckes’ side this term, despite an indifferent 2010-11 campaign.
Van Buyten has declared he is happy at Bayern, yet has acknowledged it is down to the club directors whether he will be offered a new deal, with his contract at the Bavarian giants due to expire at the end of June.
“My agent told me that four other clubs are interested in me,” the 33-year-old told Kicker.
“Bayern Munich know how I feel. My family and I feel comfortable in Munich. However, it also depends on Bayern. There is a reason I’ve been here since 2006; here I can achieve my goals.”
The defender, who will be 34 next month, also spoke of his current fitness levels.
“I feel in top shape, as if I were a 25. My head and body are ready for the highest level,” he said.
Van Buyten said he was thrilled to play at Bayern after joining the club from Hamburg six years ago.
“(The current Bayern team is) the best in which I’ve ever played. We have a chance at the treble but we need to play at our top level every time. There will be no wonderful season at Bayern without a title,” he said.
Van Buyten and his team-mates return to Bundesliga action on Friday night when they visit Borussia Moenchengladbach.
