Bayern Munich have issued a warning to Brazilian centre back Breno following his negative remarks about the club on Twitter.

The 22-year-old criticised the club on Monday after it emerged he was going to feature for Bayern’s reserve team.

“I am not belittling Bayern’s B team, but I am going to play a friendly with the B team,” he tweeted.

“What a phase I am going through … Bayern are messing with me.”

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has now warned the defender about his future posts on the social networking site.

“We have done everything. The club have shown how we feel about the player. Therefore, he should no longer tweet like this in the future,” Rummenigge said on Tuesday.

“This is a yellow card. I expect nothing more to come from this. We will continue to support him.”

Bayern paid out 500,000 euros to bail Breno out of prison in October after he was arrested on suspicion of arson following a fire at his villa, and the club lobbied hard to get his passport back from German police so he could train with the team in Qatar during the mid-season break.

The Bavarians resume their Bundesliga campaign on Friday with a trip to Borussia Moenchengladbach.
