Competition: Belgian Pro League

Market: Anderlecht win

Odds: 8/11 @ 1xBet

Seeking an immediate Pro League response on Boxing Day, Anderlecht will welcome Charleroi to Lotto Park on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, mounting a dramatic second-half comeback away at historic foes Antwerp last time out as they eventually snatched a 2-2 draw, Anderlecht are enjoying what has become an eye-catching run of form. Securing a 2-1 victory against St. Truiden in their most recent showdown at Lotto Park, Besnik Hasi’s side could still be dreaming of the chance to mount a shock title charge in 2026. Extending on their Belgium Cup adventure earlier in the month as they stormed their way to a stellar 3-1 win against Genk, the Belgium giants have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous nine domestic appearances across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to October 24th. With their sights firmly set on booking a lucrative European return, Anderlecht will also be excited by their extended dominance on home soil. Including a 1-0 win against Pro League leaders Royale Union on November 30th, Hasi’s high-flying squad have won all of their previous seven straight showdowns at Lotto Park and they will be looking to make another statement here.

As for the visitors, while Charleroi might have clung to their Pro League status last season, the Zebras have another real battle on their hands in the race to avoid the drop. Opening Christmas Day holding just a two-point buffer from slipping into the relegation zone, caretaker boss Hans Cornelis has not seen his temporary squad win any of their five consecutive Pro League appearances since returning from November’s international break. Getting December underway with a 1-0 loss away at KV Mechelen, the Hainaut-based outfit look set for what will be another stern examination here. Pencilled in as a major underdog contender this weekend, Charleroi have gained a reputation for their glaring issues on the road. Including a 3-1 defeat against St. Liege on October 31st, the Boxing Day guests have lost each of their previous three consecutive away fixtures by an aggregate score of 5-1. It should also be highlighted, the Zebras have lost five of their last six showdowns Stade du Pays de Charleroi.
