Market: Goal to be scored in both halves

Hoping to move within touching distance of the play-off spots on Monday night, Birmingham will welcome Watford to St. Andrew’s.

Starting with the hosts, while Birmingham might have only made their Championship return this season, it is no secret that the Blues have their sights set on mounting a genuine play-off charge this time around. Coming from behind over the weekend as they snatched a 1-1 stalemate away at bitter local rivals West Brom, Chris Davies’ men have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous five second-tier appearances. Knowing that they can move within touching distance of the top-six, Birmingham will certainly be excited to make a return to St. Andrew’s here. Getting November underway with consecutive 4-0 romps against Millwall and Portsmouth, Monday’s hosts will be desperate to lay down another marker. Likewise, last seen in front of their own supporters storming their way to a 4-1 victory against Norwich, Davies’ side have remarkably won all of their previous three Championship showdowns at St. Andrew’s by an aggregate score of 12-1. In fact, the Blues have recorded a quartet of strikes in all of those four consecutive home wins.

As for the visitors, settling for yet another 1-1 stalemate at home against Preston last week, Watford almost find themselves sat in Championship limbo. With it looking like they have a real battle on their hands in the race to book their own play-off ticket, Javi Garcia’s side have been forced to settle for a single point in three of their previous four Championship appearances. Although the Hornets might have been last seen away from Vicarage Road landing an action-packed 3-2 win against Derby, it is fair to say that Monday’s guests have struggled to find any kind of stability on their travels. Mustering just a sole second-tier victory outside of Hertfordshire since opening up the 2025/26 campaign, it should also be highlighted that the former Leeds boss is still waiting for his squad to record a maiden Championship clean sheet on the road. In what could prove to be an enjoyable showdown from St. Andrew’s on Monday night, chances could come thick and fast from the Midlands.

Bet: Goal to be scored in both halves at Birmingham City vs Watford 20/23 for Monday’s Championship battle @ Pribet
