Competition: League One

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 4/5 @ BetUS

Simply looking to extend on their record-breaking League One romp, Birmingham will travel to Bloomfield Road when they meet Blackpool on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Blackpool might have opened April in the midst of a three-match winning run, Steve Bruce’s side have struggled to find much fluidity in the final third. Despite snatching a 1-1 stalemate away at local rivals Wigan last week, the former Newcastle boss has seen his squad muster just a single win from any of their previous four League One showdowns. Suffering a 2-1 defeat when they welcomed Wrexham to Bloomfield Road on April 21st, the Seasiders have already accepted that their play-off dreams are over for another year. Facing what looks set to be another heavyweight challenge here, Bruce should have a headache over his side’s recent defensive issues. Including another 2-1 defeat against Rotherham earlier in the month, Wednesday’s hosts have recorded just a sole clean sheet from any of their last five showdowns on home soil. It should also be highlighted, four of those five contests at Bloomfield Road have finished with both teams finding the net.

As for the visitors, while Birmingham might have suffered real EFL Trophy heartbreak at Wembley earlier in the month, the Blues have enjoyed a remarkable League One romp. Breezing their way to an immediate Championship return, Chris Davies’ men have put 105 points on the board from their 44 appearances this season. Breaking a string of records and with the mood around St Andrew’s at a famous high, Wednesday’s guests have won each of their previous three League One appearances by an aggregate score of 7-1. Simply looking to extend on their sensational purple patch, Birmingham will also be excited by their most recent trip to Lancashire. Extending on their FA Cup adventure back in December as they claimed a 2-1 win at Bloomfield Road, Davies will be dreaming of a reap performance on Wednesday night. However, with the Blues seeing five of their last six League One showdowns on the road finish with both teams finding the net, we are expecting a similar outcome.

Bet: Both teams to score at Blackpool vs Birmingham City 4/5 for Wednesday’s League One showdown @ BetUS
