Competition: Irish Premier Division

Market: Bohemians win

Odds: 2/3 @ BetUS

Looking to extend on their recent purple patch, Bohemians will welcome Waterford to Dalymount Park on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, after spending the whole of last season scrapping it out in the battle to keep hold of the Premier Division status, Bohemians are looking for a far less dramatic campaign this time around. Last seen putting in an impressive display as they collected a 2-1 victory against St. Patricks, Alan Reynolds side are enjoying what has become quite the flurry. Mounting what was a famous second-half comeback away at defending champions Shamrock Rovers on April 21st as they clinched a 3-2 victory, the Dublin-based outfit have won each of their previous three consecutive appearances by an aggregate score of 6-3. Suddenly sat just one-point adrift of finding a route into the European places, Bohemians will be confident of laying down another marker here. Likewise, getting April underway with an action-packed 4-2 victory against Sligo Rovers, Friday’s hosts have registered 12 points from their last five Premier Division matchups.

As for the visitors, managing to claim what was an essential boost last week as they snatched a 2-1 victory at home against Derry City, Waterford will know the importance of using that performance as a platform to build on. However, getting Friday’s trip to Dublin underway holding just a one-point buffer from slipping into the relegation zone, interim boss matt Lawlor does have a major job on his hands. Getting April underway with consecutive 2-0 defeats against Drogheda and Shamrock Rovers, Friday’s guests have lost each of their other seven Premier Division appearances. Mustering just a trio of points from a possible 24, Waterford will also be worried by their most recent showdown against the Bohs. Falling to a 3-0 drumming when they welcomed the potential European dreamers to town on March 7th, it should also be noted that the Blues have lost all of their last four straight matchups on the road by an aggregate score of 7-1.

Bet: Bohemians 2/3 to beat Waterford in Friday’s Irish Premier Division battle @ BetUS
