Competition: Champions League

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 4/7 @ Pribet

Two camps who will sign off their respective Champions League group stage adventures on Wednesday night, Club Brugge will welcome Marseille to Belgium.

Starting with the hosts, getting their group stage finale underway on Wednesday night sat one-point adrift of finding a route into the play-off places, Club Brugge will be more than aware that they face a must-win showdown here. Keeping their knockout stage dreams away last week as they secured a thumping 4-1 victory away at European debutants Kairat Almaty, Ivan Leko’s men will be dreaming of a repeat performance when they return to the Jan Breydel Stadium. However, despite keeping up their momentum over the weekend as they secured a thrilling 4-3 win against Waregem, the Belgium giants are desperately searching for some much-needed defensive steel. Including a shock 3-2 loss against Pro League relegation scrappers RAAL La Louviere on January 16th, Club Brugge have failed to record a single clean sheet from any of their previous 12 consecutive appearances across all competitions – a rut that stems all the way back to the end of November. Likewise, it should also be highlighted that Wednesday’s hosts have mustered just a sole clean sheet at the Jan Breydel Stadium since way back on October 5th.

As for the visitors, while Marseille might have all but officially punched their Champions League play-off spot, Roberto De Zerbi’s men were last seen putting in a nightmare European performance. Falling to a 3-0 drumming at home against Liverpool, the former Brighton boss made his frustrations clear. Nevertheless, claiming an immediate boost over the weekend as they secured a 3-1 victory against French high-flyers Lens, Les Phoceens have won each of their other three appearances across all competitions. Likewise, despite suffering Super Cup heartbreak at the hands of reigning European champions and bitter domestic rivals PSG on January 8th, Marseille have continued to impress with their success on the road. Extending on their Coupe de France adventure earlier in the month as they clinched a record-breaking 9-0 romp against Bayeux, Wednesday’s guests have won four of their last five showdowns away from the Stade Velodrome. Two camps who will sign off their respective group stage campaigns in midweek, we are expecting chances to come thick and fast.

Bet: Both teams to score at Club Brugge vs Marseille 4/7 for Wednesday’s Champions League battle @ Pribet
