Competition: Brazil Serie B

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 2/3 @ BetUS

Hoping to extend their stay in the promotion places, Vila Nova will travel to the Arena Pantanal when they meet Cuiaba in the early hours of Tuesday.

Starting with the hosts, losing their Serie A status with a real whimper last season, Cuiaba are desperate to clinch an immediate top-flight return this time around. However, despite going unbeaten in each of their first six Serie B showdowns when opening up the 2025 campaign, Guto Ferreira’s side have come crashing back down to earth in a worrying fashion. Last seen slumping to a 2-1 defeat away at Chapecoense, the former Sport Recife boss has seen his squad suffer consecutive losses for the first time this season. Likewise, hit with an action-packed 3-2 defeat when they welcomed Operario to Mato Grosso on May 11th, Cuiaba have slipped into the bottom-half of the Serie B standings. Putting just a single victory on the board from their previous five outings, Ferreira’s camp have also shown some extended defensive issues. In fact, Tuesday’s hosts have notched just a sole clean sheet since the opening weekend.

As for the visitors, watching their Copa do Brasil adventure come to a thumping end last week as they slumped to a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Cruzeiro, Vila Nova are desperately seeking an immediate response here. Nevertheless, getting Tuesday’s trip to Mato Grosso underway sat in the promotion spots, the Tigers will be excited to turn their attention back to Serie B duties. Last seen in second-tier action landing a 2-1 victory against Athletico Paranaense, the midweek guests have won four of their previous five Serie B appearances and have their sights firmly set on securing an iconic top-flight return this year. However, despite battling it out in the top-four, Vila Nova have struggled to find any kind of stability on their travels. Including a 2-0 loss against Remo on May 14th, Rafael Lacerda’s side have mustered just a sole win from any of their previous six showdowns outside of Goias – a run that stems back to March 9th.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Cuiaba vs Vila Nova 2/3 for Tuesday’s Brazil Serie B battle @ BetUS
