Competition: Championship

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 4/9 @ BetUS

Looking to make it three consecutive Championship wins on Friday night, Derby will welcome West Brom to Pride Park this weekend.

Starting with the hosts, while Derby might have shown some real issues on either side of opening the New Year, John Eustace’s men have certainly claimed a much-welcomed boost over the past week. Last seen claiming a rugged 2-1 victory away at Charlton, the Rams have secured consecutive Championship wins for the first time since returning from November’s International break. Knowing that they can temporarily skyrocket their way into the play-off places this weekend, the former Birmingham boss should be smelling a golden opportunity here. However, watching their FA Cup adventure come to an end on January 11th as they fell to a 3-1 defeat at home against Premier League outfit Leeds, Derby will know the importance of finding some defensive stability. Signing off 2025 with a 2-1 loss away at Leicester, Eustace’s camp have recorded just a pair of clean sheets from any of their last eight appearances across all competitions.

As for the visitors, while new boss Eric Ramsay might have only arrived at the Hawthorns a fortnight ago, the former Minnesota boss already has a huge amount of pressure on his shoulders. Putting in what was a woeful performance last weekend as they slumped to a 5-0 drumming at home against Norwich, the Baggies are suddenly at the heart of a real relegation scrap. Getting Friday’s trip to Pride Park underway holding just a three-point buffer over the drop zone, West Brom have lost each of their previous four consecutive Championship showdowns by an aggregate score of 11-3. With Ramsay getting his tenure underway with an action-packed 3-2 defeat against Middlesbrough earlier in the month, Friday’s guests have also gained quite the reputation for their glaring struggles on the road. Including another 3-2 loss against Southampton last month, the Baggies have lost all of their previous 10 straight Championship matchups outside of the Midlands.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Derby County vs West Brom 4/9 for Friday’s Championship contest @ BetUS
