Hoping to extend their stay in the play-off places, Southend will travel to the Silverlake Stadium on Wednesday night when they meet Eastleigh.

Starting with the hosts, spending the majority of last season sat in National League limbo, Eastleigh are simply hoping to make some kind of impact this time around. However, despite signing off August with a 2-1 victory at home against Altrincham, the Spitfires have won just a trio of their first nine appearances and they have once again shown some glaring inconsistencies. Despite landing an action-packed 3-2 win against Aldershot on August 20th, the Hampshire-based outfit have also gained a reputation for their defensive issues. Along with mustering just a single clean sheet since opening up the 2025/26 campaign, they have also come away unscathed in just two of their last 10 consecutive National League outings – a run that stems all the way back to March 4th. Potentially facing what could be another tricky test here, they also fell to a 3-1 defeat against Braintree in their most recent showdown at the Silverlake Stadium.

As for the visitors, suffering an infamous play-off final collapse at Wembley back on June 1st as they eventually fell to a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat against Oldham, Southend are desperate to go one-step further this time around. Although Kevin Maher’s men might have opened September with a rollercoaster 3-2 loss away at Wealdstone, it appears that was just a minor blip for the Essex-based outfit. Despite settling for a 1-1 stalemate at home against Boston over the weekend, Wednesday’s guests have suffered just a single defeat from any of their first nine National League appearances. Signing off August with a 2-1 win away at Solihull Moors, Southend should also be excited by a dominant record at the Silverlake Stadium. Landing a 2-1 victory when they last travelled to Hampshire back on March 22nd, the Shrimpers will be dreaming of a repeat performance here. In fact, Maher’s side have also won their previous three straight trips to Eastleigh by an aggregate score of 4-1.

Bet: Both teams to score at Eastleigh vs Southend United 10/11 for Thursday’s National League battle @ 1xBet
