Competition: Turkish Cup
Market: Galatasaray win
Odds: 4/7 @ BetUS
Getting their Turkish Cup adventure underway on Thursday evening, Galatasaray will welcome Basaksehir to Rams Park.
Starting with the hosts, while Galatasaray might find themselves at the heart of a recent Champions League blip, the Turkish heavyweights are enjoying a real domestic romp. Last seen over the weekend putting in a thumping display as they stormed their way to an empathic 4-1 victory away at Antalyaspor, Okay Buruk’s side will be dreaming of a repeat display here. Leading the chase at the top of the Super Lig standings and holding a three-point buffer over arch-rivals Fenerbahce, the reigning Turkish champions are looking to shatter more domestic records this season. Marking their return from November’s international break with an action-packed 3-2 win against Genclerbirligi, the Lions have suffered just a single Super Lig defeat since opening up the 2025/26 campaign. Looking to get their Turkish Cup adventure underway with an early statement of intent, Thursday’s hosts have also gained a fearsome reputation for their dominance at Rams Park. In fact, Galatasaray have not tasted a domestic defeat in front of their own supporters so far this calendar year.
As for the visitors, although Basaksehir might have made an immediate return to winning ways last time out as they secured a 2-0 victory away at Samsunspor, Nuri Sahin’s camp have failed to find any kind of recent stability. Essentially sat in Super Lig limbo, the former Borussia Dortmund boss has seen his squad register just a quartet of wins from any of their previous 12 showdowns against top-flight opposition – a run that stems back to the middle of September. Suffering Europa Conference League heartbreak at the hands of Romanian outfit Universitatea Craiova back in August as they fell to a 5-2 aggregate defeat, Thursday’s guests look set for what will certainly be a heavyweight challenge here. Signing off November with a shock 2-1 loss against Genclerbirligi, Sahin’s side should also be concerned by a nightmare record against Galatasaray. Including a 2-1 defeat when they last met the reigning Super Lig champions back on October 18th, they have failed to win any of their previous seven meetings (six defeats, one draw).
