Competition: National League South
Market: Over 1.5 goals
Odds: 4/11 @ BetUS
Two camps who have their sights set on securing their own respective immediate National League returns, Maidenhead will welcome Ebbsfleet to York Road on Tuesday night.
Starting with the hosts, while Maidenhead might still be looking to find a permanent replacement following Alan Devonshire’s exit back in November, the Magpies are enjoying what has become an extended flurry. Despite signing off 2025 with a shock 3-1 loss at home against Slough, interim boss Ryan Peters saw his temporary squad claim an immediate response over the weekend. Getting the New Year underway with a 2-1 victory away at Horsham, the Berkshire-based outfit have skyrocketed their way up the National League South standings and they suddenly sit within touching distance of finding a route into the play-off places. Looking to make what would be a real statement in midweek, Tuesday’s hosts have suffered just a single defeat from their previous seven appearances. Storming their way to a stellar 6-0 romp against Salisbury on November 25th, Maidenhead have also found a recent clinical edge in the final third. In fact, bagging 35 National League South strikes this season, only one side outside the play-off places have registered more goals.
As for the visitors, also losing their National League status last season, Ebbsfleet find themselves in an almost identical position to Monday’s opponents. Despite showing their own inconsistencies on either side of opening December, Josh Wright’s men have come roaring back in an eye-catching fashion. Last seen signing off 2025 with a 2-1 victory away at Dover, the Kent-based outfit have embarked on a real purple patch. Extending on their FA Trophy adventure on December 13th as they secured a 3-1 win against Braintree, the Reds have now won all of their previous four appearances across all competitions by an aggregate score of 7-2. Likewise, despite travelling to Berkshire in midweek pencilled in as an underdog contender, Ebbsfleet should take plenty of positives away from their recent success away from Stonebridge Road. Along with recording back-to-back National League South victories on their travels for the first time this season, Tuesday’s guests have also registered seven points from their last three matchups outside of Kent.
