Looking to extend on their stellar Championship resurge, Norwich will welcome Preston to Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Norwich might have watched their FA Cup adventure come to a routine end away at Premier League outfit Leeds last weekend, the Canaries have embarked on a sensational Championship romp. Despite enduring a nightmare start to the 2025/26 campaign and opening the New Year at the heart of a relegation scrap, Philippe Clement’s men have come skyrocketing up the table and suddenly find the mood in their camp at a real high. Last seen earlier in the week mounting a stunning second-half comeback on home soil as they clinched a 2-1 victory against Sheffield United, the former Rangers boss has seen his squad receive plenty of recent plaudits. Signing off February with a 2-0 win away at Leicester, Norwich have won all of their previous three consecutive Championship appearances by an aggregate score of 6-1. Likewise, Saturday’s hosts have also won six of their last seven showdowns against Championship opposition across all formats.

As for the visitors, while Preston might have come flying out of the traps when opening up the 2025/26 campaign, Paul Heckinbottom’s men have come crashing back down to earth in a worrying fashion. Last seen earlier in the week falling to a 3-0 drumming away at Championship leaders Coventry, the former Sheffield United boss has some serious pressure on his shoulders at Deepdale. Free-falling down the standings, Saturday’s guests have lost each of their last three consecutive Championship appearances by an aggregate score of 8-1. Showing a string of issues at both ends of the pitch, Preston have also remarkably recorded just a single win from any of their previous 12 straight showdowns across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to January 4th. Getting March underway with a nightmare 3-1 loss against Oxford United, Heckingbottom’s men look set for what is another real challenge when they travel to Carrow Road this weekend.
