Two camps who find themselves scrapping it out in the play-off chase, Phoenix Rising will welcome Orange County to Arizona in the early hours of Sunday.

Starting with the hosts, while Phoenix might have opened the 2025 campaign in the midst of a public wobble, Pa-Modou Kah’s side have certainly turned a real corner over the past month. Extending on their USL Cup adventure last weekend as they edged past New Mexico, the Reds should find the mood in their camp at a season-high. Skyrocketing their way up the Western Conference standings, the former Cincinnati coach will be calling on his squad to lay down another marker here. Last seen in USL action signing off May with a 1-0 win away at the Las Vegas Lights, Phoenix have won each of their previous four appearances across all competitions and are enjoying their most fruitful spell of the campaign. As for the visitors, while Orange County might have signed off May with a much-welcomed 3-1 victory at home against Colorado, Danny Stone’s men came crashing back down to earth last weekend. Watching their respective USL Cup adventure come to an end as they slumped to a 3-2 defeat against Monterey Bay, the ex-Phoenix boss should be bracing himself for a stern examination against his former employers. With their recent issues underlined by a 3-0 drumming against New Mexico on May 18th, Orange County have lost three of their previous four appearances across all competitions. It should also be noted, Sunday’s guests have lost six of their last eight matchups – a rut that stems back to April 13th. Likewise, losing all of their first five showdowns outside of California since opening up the 2025 campaign, Stone’s downbeat squad are rightfully installed as an underdog contender this weekend.
