Competition: MLS

Market: San Diego FC win

Odds: 4/11 @ 1xBet

Looking to extend their buffer at the top of the Western Conference standings, a high-flying San Diego will welcome Toronto to California in the early hours of Thursday.

Starting with the hosts, while San Diego might have only made their MLS debut this season, Mikey Varas’ men have embarked on a sensational start to life among America’s elite. Continuing to receive a string of plaudits, the California-based outfit are leading the chase at the top of the Western Conference standings. Last seen clinching a 2-1 victory away at Chicago, the former USA coach finds the mood in his camp at a red-hot high. Simply looking to widen their buffer over the chasing pack, San Diego will certainly be smelling a golden opportunity in the early hours of Thursday. Signing off June with an action-packed 3-2 win against Dallas, the midweek hosts have won five of their previous six MLS appearances – a run that stems back to May 29th. With their purple patch highlighted by a 5-3 victory against Vancouver last month, Varas’ side have gained a fearsome reputation for their free-scoring performances in the final third.

As for the visitors, while Toronto might have signed off June with a much-welcomed 3-0 victory against Portland, it appears that was just a minor boost for Robin Fraser’s side. Getting July underway with a routine 3-1 loss at the hands of New York City, the Reds find themselves scrapping it out at the foot of the Eastern Conference standings. Along with suffering three consecutive MLS defeat on either side of opening June, Thursday’s guests have mustered just a sole win from any of their last seven straight outings. Likewise, mustering just a pair of victories away from BMO Field so far this calendar year, Toronto couldn’t have asked for a tougher challenge when they travel to the Western Conference leaders in the early hours of Thursday. Given what has been a huge recent gulf in class between the midweek opponents, we are backing a home win in California.

Bet: San Diego FC 4/11 to beat Toronto FC in Thursday’s MLS battle @ 1xBet
