Competition: Ykkosliiga

Market: Lahti win

Odds: 4/7 @ BetUS

Two sides who find themselves scrapping it out at opposite ends of the Ykkosliiga table, Lahti will travel to SJk on Tuesday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while some in SJK’s camp might have opened up the 2025 campaign with their sights set on mounting a genuine promotion charge, Stevie Grieve’s men have continued to show some real issues. Last seen falling to what was an action-packed 3-2 defeat at the hands of Klubi, the Kerho are looking over their shoulder at a looming relegation scrap. Including a 2-1 loss away at PK-35 last month, the former St. Johnstone coach has seen his squad lose three of their previous four Ykkosliiga appearances. Watching their Suomen Cup adventure come to a thumping end of May 6th as they slumped to a 4-3 loss against OLS Oulu, Tuesday’s hosts have registered just a pair of wins from any of their previous 12 appearances across all competitions. With that rut stemming all the way back to a 3-0 victory against KaPa on April 27th, SJK have also gained a reputation for their extended defensive struggles.

As for the visitors, while Lahti might have lost their top-flight status last season, the Black Drones appear to be cruising their way to an immediate Veikkausliiga return in 2025. Last seen clinching a 3-2 victory at home against Jippo, Goncalo Pereira’s men are leading the chase at the top of the table and are enjoying what has become quite the purple patch. Including three consecutive 2-1 wins last month, Tuesday’s guests have won all of their previous seven straight Ykkosliiga appearances. Likewise, with that run stemming back to a 2-2 stalemate against TPS Turku on May 21st, Lahti have registered 25 points from their last nine outings. Pencilled in as a standout title contender this season, Pereira’s men have also continued to shine on their travels. Suffering just a single defeat on their travels since the middle of April, the former KPV boss should be smelling a potential opportunity here.

Bet: Lahti 4/7 to beat Ykkosliiga in Tuesday’s Ykkosliiga matchup @ BetUS
