Competition: Serie B

Market: Venezia win

Odds: 4/9 @ BetUS

Two sides who find themselves scrapping it out at opposite ends of the Serie B standings, Venezia will welcome Entella to the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, losing their Serie A status with a whimper last season, it is no secret that Venezia have their sights fixed on securing an immediate top-flight return this time around. Last seen securing a gritty 2-1 victory away at Mondena, Giovanni Stroppa’s men are widely regarded as a standout promotion contender in 2026 and the open Saturday’s showdown knowing that they could move within touching distance of top spot. Looking to make another statement here and rightfully installed as a landslide favourite here, the Winged Lions are enjoying a major Serie B flurry. Signing off November with an empathic 3-0 romp at home against Mantova, Venezia have registered 16 points from their previous six showdowns against second-tier opposition. With that purple patch stemming all the way back to November 2nd, Stroppa’s promotion contenders have also gained a fearsome reputation for their dominance on home soil. Last seen in Veneto securing a 2-0 victory against Monza, Saturday’s hosts have won all of their previous six consecutive appearances at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo by an aggregate score of 16-1.

As for the visitors, only making their Serie B return this season, Entella are desperate to maintain their second-tier status this time around. Opening Christmas Day with just their goal difference keeping them outside the relegation zone, the Biancocelsti are enduring what has become a worrying rut. Suffering last-gasp heartbreak at home against Suditrol last time out as they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate in Liguria, Andrea Chiappella’s side have now registered just a single point from any of their previous four Serie B appearances. Likewise, signing off November with an action-packed 3-2 defeat against Cantanzaro, Saturday’s guests have recorded just a sole win from any of their last nine showdowns against second-tier opposition – a run that stems all the way back to the middle of October. Hit with another 3-2 loss when they last travelled to the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo back in February 2021, we are expecting a similar home victory this weekend.
