Chelsea face hurdle in getting Jeremy Jacquet deal done

Chelsea are facing a problem in signing Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes in the January transfer window, according to The Sun. The report in the British tabloid has claimed that the Blues are unable to meet the transfer demands set by Rennes.

Rennes want £55 million for Jacquet, which Chelsea are not willing to pay. However, the Premier League club are agreed on personal terms with the France Under-21 international centre-back, who wants to make the switch to  Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are sixth in the Premier League table at the moment with 34 points from 22 matches, just two points behind fourth-placed and defending champions Liverpool, who have played 23 games. As for Rennes, they currently find themselves sixth in the standings with 31 points from 19 games.
