Coton Sport defeated Unisport of Bafang on Sunday to lift the Cameroon Cup and complete an impressive double.
The northern club from Garoua, which had earlier won the Elite One title, was stretched in the penalty shootout by an inspiring Unisport before some 30,000 fans, watched by the Head of State Paul Biya.
Both teams went straight for the shootout at the end of the 90 minutes, without extra time.
Unisport missed their first three kicks while Michel Balogock Nack, Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo and Emmanuel Mbongo Ewangue scored to hand Coton Sport a fifth Cameroon Cup.
Coton Sport were previously managed by the Indomitable Lions coach Denis Lavagne, who recently succeeded Javier Clemente.
The Spaniard has filed a complaint with FIFA against the Cameroon Football Federation for wrongful dismissal.
He is demanding 750,000 euros in damages.
Samuel Eto’o, who is due to attend a hearing of the Cameroon disciplinary committee on Monday alongside Enoh Eyong, was also at the final.
