Crespo to quit Parma

Parma striker Hernan Crespo has confirmed that he will leave the Serie A club in January, with a move to Qatar or the USA on the cards.

Reports in the Bulgarian press on Monday claimed that the local league leaders, Ludogorets Razgrad, were preparing a loan offer for the Argentine striker.

Crespo, 36, has found himself on the fringes at Parma in 2011-12, with only four appearances to date this term.

And the veteran striker announced that he will take on a new challenge in January, but a move to Bulgaria seems unlikely.

“This is my farewell season. I will stop playing in June,” he said. “I will most likely leave Italy (in January), but I will continue working hard because I like doing that.”

“Qatar? Why not? I do not rule out Qatar or the United States. It will surely be something interesting for me, something that will make me happy.”

The former Argentina international left River Plate, and South America, in 1996 to pursue his career in Europe, representing Lazio, Inter and Chelsea among others.

He returned to Parma in January 2010 after playing at the Serie A club from 1996 to 2000.
