Bayern Munich have confirmed that Alphonso Davies has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
Davies, who joined the Bundesliga side from the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019, has put pen to paper on fresh terms that will keep him with Vincent Kompany’s side until 2030.
The Canada international’s previous deal was set to expire in June, with reports suggesting a free transfer to Real Madrid in the summer was on the cards.
But he has chosen to remain in Munich until the end of the 2029-30 campaign and would see his stay there reach 11 years should he play out his new contract.
Davies has made 25 appearances across all competitions for Bayern this season, scoring once and providing three assists.
In the Bundesliga this term, only Michael Olise (41) and Jamal Musiala (47) have completed more dribbles than Davies (29).
“I am very happy to have extended my contract at this great club,” Davies said in a club statement.
“I came to FC Bayern when I was 18 and just wanted to learn as much as possible every day to become one of the best in my position.
“Now I’m looking forward to another five years together. I’ve already achieved a lot here, but there’s more to come.”
