December 10th: Wednesday’s Football Accumulator – 6/1 Special, Betting Tips & Analysis

Watching Manchester City travel to the Bernabeu for a blockbuster Champions League showdown on Wednesday night, we are treated to a stacked midweek schedule.

Although Europe’s elite club competition might steal plenty of the midweek attention, we also have some eye-catching affairs from across England.

For those of you looking to stick on a Wednesday flutter, we have taken an in-depth look at some of the most attractive betting markets.

Wednesday, December 10th

BST 19:45 Ipswich Town vs Stoke City

Losing their Premier League status last season, it is no secret that Ipswich have their sights set on booking an immediate top-flight return this time around.

Although Kieran McKenna’s men might have opened up the 2025/26 campaign in the midst of a real wobble, the one-time Manchester United coach has seen his squad turn an essential corner on either side of November’s international break.

Last seen putting in what was a season-best performance as they stormed their way to a sensational 3-0 romp against runaway leaders Coventry, the Blues will be dreaming of a repeat display here.

Skyrocketing their way into the play-off places, Ipswich know that they can move within touching distance of the automatic promotion spots.

Heading into November’s international break with a 4-1 victory away at Swansea, Ipswich have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous nine consecutive Championship appearances – a purple patch that stems all the way back to October 21st.

While Stoke might have enjoyed a remarkable start to proceedings back in August, the Potters have come crashing back down to earth in a worrying fashion.

Last seen putting in a nightmare display as they slumped to a 4-0 drumming at the hands of a resurgent Sheffield United, Mark Robins’ men are desperately seeking a boost.

However, marking their return from November’s fortnight interval with consecutive defeats against Coventry and Leicester, Wednesday’s guests have lost four of their previous five Championship appearances and have come tumbling out the automatic promotion spots.

Signing off November with a 2-1 defeat at home against Hull, Stoke will be bracing themselves for another stern examination in midweek. Showing some real cause for concern over the past month, Robins’ downbeat squad should also be concerned by their most recent trip to Ipswich.

In fact, the Potters fell to a routine 2-0 loss when they last travelled to Portman Road for a Championship showdown back in August 2023.

Betting Tip: Ipswich Town win @ 7/10

19:45 Rotherham United vs Blackpool

While Rotherham might have been forced to settle for a single point in four of their previous five League One appearances, the Millers have gained a recent reputation for their rugged approach in Yorkshire.

Extending on their EFL Trophy adventure last time out as they stormed their way to a stunning 7-2 romp away at Salford, Matt Hamshaw’s side will be desperate to use that season-best performance as a platform to build on going forward.

Knowing that they can find a route into the top-half of the League One standings in midweek, the Reds have not suffered a single defeat within 90 minutes from any of their previous 13 consecutive appearances across all competitions.

With that run stemming all the way back to the start of October, Rotherham should be smelling a real opportunity here.

Securing a dominant 3-0 win against Lincoln last month, Wednesday’s hosts should also be excited by their extended success in Yorkshire. In fact, Hamshaw’s side have suffered just a single defeat at the New York Stadium so far this season.

Although some in Blackpool’s camp might have opened up the 2025/26 campaign with their sights set on mounting another genuine play-off charge, the Seasiders find themselves at the heart of a major League One nightmare.

Despite extending on their FA Cup adventure last time out as they secured a 4-1 victory at home against National League outfit Carlisle, that is the only win that Ian Evatt’s side have secured from any of their last six appearances across all competitions.

Scrapping it out at the foot of the table and opening Wednesday’s trip to Yorkshire sat in the relegation spots, the former Bolton boss has also seen his squad gain a reputation for their issues on the road.

Last seen on their travels falling to an action-packed 4-2 defeat at the hands of Harrogate, Blackpool have secured just a single win away from Bloomfield Road so far this season.

Once again pencilled in as a real underdog contender here, it should also be highlighted that the Seasiders have lost all of their previous four consecutive trips to Rotherham by an aggregate score of 8-2.

Betting Tip: Rotherham win @ 11/8

20:00 Real Madrid vs Manchester City

While there might have been plenty of excitement around the Spanish capital following Xabi Alonso’s arrival at the Bernabeu, Los Blancos suddenly find themselves at the heart of what has become a real rut.

Despite flying out of the traps when opening up the 2025/26 campaign, Wednesday’s hosts have come crashing back down to earth and the former Baer Leverkusen boss has some serious pressure on his shoulders.

With it suggested that another defeat on Wednesday night could be the final nail in Alonso’s Bernabeu coffin, Madrid have shown some real issues on either side of November’s international break.

Last seen over the weekend falling to an infamous 2-0 defeat at home against Celta Vigo, Alonso’s superstar squad have remarkably registered just a pair of wins from any of their previous seven appearances across all formats.

Facing a real uphill battle in the race to reclaim their domestic crown this season, Alonso and his leaky defence look set for what is a career-defining showdown here.

While Manchester City might have been left hugely frustrated last month as they fell to a shock 2-0 loss at home against Bayer Leverkusen, Pep Guardiola’s camp have come roaring back in some style.

Extending on their domestic purple patch over the weekend as they cruised their way to a 3-0 romp at home against Premier League newcomers Sunderland, the Sky Blues should be excited by a trip to Madrid on Wednesday night.

Winning all of their previous three top-flight appearances by an aggregate score of 11-7, City have found a real clinical edge in the final third and will be looking to make another statement.

Getting there Champions League adventure underway with an eye-catching 2-0 victory against Napoli back on September 18th, many have billed Guardiola’s men as a genuine European contender this season.

Despite watching their European adventure come to a thumping end in the Spanish capital last season, Man City will be confident of exploiting a leaky Los Blancos defence.
