December 20th: Saturday’s English Accumulator – 9/1 Special, Betting Tips & Analysis

Now at the heart of what is a stacked winter schedule, we have an action-packed fixtures list from across England’s elite.

With both Arsenal and Manchester City stealing centre stage on Saturday afternoon, we have a string of eye-catching battles from up and down the country.

So, for those of you looking to stick on a Saturday flutter, we have taken an in-depth look at some of this weekend’s most attractive English betting tips.

Saturday, December 20th

BST 15:00 Manchester City vs West Ham

Despite relinquishing their Premier League crown last season as they signed off the 2024/25 campaign without a single piece of silverware to show for their troubles, Pep Guardiola’s men are enjoying another real purple patch.

Extending on their EFL Cup charge earlier in the week as they secured a routine 2-0 win at home against Brentford, the former Barcelona boss finds his superstar squad sat just two points adrift of climbing to the top of the Premier League standings.

Last seen in top-flight action securing an eye-catching 3-0 romp away at Crystal Palace, City have won all of their previous six appearances across all competitions.

Making a major Champions League statement on December 10th as they secured a thrilling 2-1 victory against Real Madrid, Saturday’s hosts have certainly been handed a golden opportunity this weekend.

Likewise, along with winning all of their last three matchups at the Etihad by an aggregate score of 8-2, Guardiola’s side have also won 10 of their previous 11 showdowns in front of their own supporters.

Throwing away the lead twice last weekend and suffering more frustration in east London as they eventually fell to a 3-2 loss against a high-flying Aston Villa, West Ham find themselves at the heart of a relegation scrap.

Opening Saturday’s trip to the Etihad sat three points adrift of top-flight safety, Nuno Espírito Santo is more than aware that he has a major job on his hands at the London Stadium.

Signing off November with a 2-0 defeat against Liverpool and without a win from any of their previous five consecutive Premier League appearances, the Hammers have also gained a reputation for their glaring defensive struggles.

Shipping 32 top-flight strikes so far this season and recording just a sole clean sheet, West Ham hold the third-worst defensive return among England’s elite.

Hit with a 4-1 drumming when they last met Manchester City back in January, Santo’s relegation scrappers couldn’t have asked for a tougher examination this weekend.

Betting Tip: Manchester City to win both halves @ 13/10

15:00 Bournemouth vs Burnley

While Bournemouth might have eventually left Old Trafford with a sensational 4-4 stalemate against Manchester United earlier in the week, Andoni Iraola’s men have come under some serious pressure on either side of November’s international break.

Despite flying out of the traps when opening up the 2025/26 campaign, the former Rayo Vallecano boss has seen his squad come crashing back down to earth in a worrying fashion.

Tumbling their way down the Premier League standings, Bournemouth have remarkably failed to win any of their previous seven consecutive top-flight showdowns.

Heading into November’s fortnight interval with a woeful 4-0 drumming at the hands of Aston Villa, Saturday’s hosts have also continued to show some worrying defensive struggles.

In fact, Iraola’s side have registered just a sole clean sheet since the end of October and they have also come away unscathed at the Vitality on just a single occasion since a 0-0 stalemate against Newcastle on September 21st.

While Burnley might have only made their Premier League return this season, it is no secret that Scott Parker’s men are universally regarded as a standout bottom-three contender this time around.

Last seen falling to an action-packed 3-2 defeat at home against Fulham, the Clarets are sat firmly in the drop zone and once again face another tricky test here.

Getting December underway with a 1-0 defeat against Crystal Palace, Burnley have now lost all of their previous seven consecutive Premier League appearances by an aggregate score of 16-6.

It should also be noted, the Lancashire-based outfit also fell to a 2-1 loss when they last travelled to Bournemouth back in October 2023.

Holding the second-worst defensive tally among England’s elite, Parker’s downbeat squad and losing seven of their first eight showdowns away from Turf Moor, the Clarets will certainly be asked some serious questions here.

Betting Tip: Antoine Semenyo to score anytime @ 7/5

15:00 QPR vs Leicester City

Putting in what was a downbeat display away at automatic promotion contenders Middlesbrough last weekend as they eventually fell to a 3-1 loss on Tyneside, QPR will be seeking an immediate response here.

Nevertheless, although the Hoops might have spent the majority of last season looking over their shoulder at a looming relegation scrap, Julien Stephan’s side have come roaring back in an eye-catching fashion this time around.

Getting Saturday’s return to west London underway this weekend sat within touching distance of finding a shock routine into the play-off places, the former Rennes boss has seen his squad gain a recent reputation for their success on home soil.

Last seen at Loftus Road securing a last-gasp 2-1 win against Birmingham, QPR have won all of their previous three consecutive Championship showdowns in west London by an aggregate score of 8-4.

However, it should be noted, the Hoops have seen their last six straight matchups in west London finish with both teams finding the net.

Signing off November with consecutive defeats against Southampton and Sheffield United, Leicester were hit with even more public backlash. Getting this weekend’s fixtures underway sat outside the play-off places, Marti Cifuentes’ men are desperately searching for some essential stability in 2026.

However, last seen putting in what was arguably a season-best performance as they stormed their way to a 3-1 victory at home against Ipswich, the former QPR boss will be dreaming of a repeat display when he returns to west London on Saturday afternoon.

Getting December underway with another 3-1 win away at Derby, Leicester will now be desperate to secure back-to-back Championship victories for the first time since way back in August.

Nevertheless, much like Saturday’s opponents, the Foxes have also shown their own rather glaring issues at the back.

Including a dramatic 3-2 loss at home against Sheffield United last month, Cifuentes’ leaky defence have remarkably failed to muster a single clean sheet from any of their last 16 straight attempts – a rut that stems all the way back to September 20th.
