Santos playmaker Ganso has confirmed that private football investment fund DIS have purchased a further 10 percent of his economic rights.
The group already owned 45 percent of the Brazilian international, and have now upped that stake to 55 percent.
The 22-year-old said Santos were not interested in purchasing the stake, fuelling talk the highly-rated midfielder could be set for a move to Europe.
Ganso has been linked with moves to AC Milan, Inter Milan and big-spending Paris Saint-Germain.
Now that DIS have a majority stake in the player, they could take the lead in any future transfer negotiations.
“What has happened is that DIS, who already had 45 percent has now increased their stake to 55 percent. Santos were not interested so I talked to DIS, warning Santos beforehand,” Ganso explained to Lancenet.
Santos and DIS have clashed previously and the Brazilian club filed a lawsuit against the group earlier this year, claiming DIS’ previous management were willing to sell a number of the side’s players, including Ganso, for below market value.
Ganso said he is now looking to focus on his game, as he looks to cement his place in the Brazil squad.
“I just want to worry about playing football,” he said. “I do not feel devalued although I cannot say why Santos were not interested (in purchasing the 10 percent). This is normal in football when one party does not want to buy.”
Ganso has made seven appearances for Brazil and is yet to score his first international goal.
