League Two strugglers Bristol Rovers had no problems in brushing aside non-league outfit AFC Totton 6-1 in the FA Cup on Sunday.
Rovers booked their spot in the third round thanks to a lightning start that saw them coast to victory at the Testwood Stadium.
Totton, who play their football in the Southern Division of non-League, the eighth-tier of football in the English pyramid, were always going to face an uphill battle and the game was as good as over after 13 minutes.
Joe Anyinsah opened the scoring for Bristol after nine minutes and a minute later Mustapha Carayol doubled the visitors’ lead.
Bristol had three goals inside four minutes when Dan Woodwards found the back of the net and the visitors carried that lead into the half-time break.
Byron Anthony got Rovers’ fourth with 26 minutes to play and although Nathaniel Sherborne produced a quick response for the hosts, Eliot Richards struck twice in the final 20 minutes to put the finishing touches on an impressive Bristol win.
Rovers did have their day soured however, with substitute Ben Swallow given a straight red card with seven minutes to play, which was just five minutes after he came on.
