Midfielder Cesc Fabregas insists Barcelona are not afraid of Real Madrid as they prepare to travel to the Spanish capital.
The reigning champions visit the Bernabeu on December 10 in a meeting that could have serious ramifications for their title defence.
Barcelona are currently three points behind Real on the table having played an extra game, and a loss next week would see them fall even further behind their arch-rivals.
But Fabregas said they would not be afraid to attack Madrid on their own turf.
“The team is in good shape and will go to the Santiago Bernabeu looking for a win, and whatever happens, there’ll be no lack of bravery and courage to play our own style,” Fabregas said to Barca TV.
“If we go there with nerves or thinking we’ll sit back and see what happens, we could be punished as the Bernabeu is a very dangerous place to play.”
“Obviously they’ll go all out for a win, and the home fans will make their presence felt. We know that if Real Madrid win, it could have a serious impact on the league. We’ll go there to win. We’re not afraid.”
Madrid currently top La Liga with 37 points from 14 games, while Barcelona sit second with 34 points from 15 matches.
