Fenerbahce want to sign Christopher Nkunku from AC Milan in the January transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The well-known and well-respected Italian journalist has reported that the Turkish Super Lig club have been in contact with Serie A outfit Milan over a deal for Nkunku, who joined the Rossoneri from Chelsea only in the summer of 2025.
MilanNews quotes Romano as saying on his YouTube channel: “Christopher Nkunku has made a breakthrough, opening his Serie A account after scoring in the Coppa Italia. This remains a transfer market issue to monitor in the coming days and weeks. Clearly, the brace against Verona has changed sentiment on Nkunku.
“One match won’t change the assessments of all parties involved, but one match can certainly spark a spark, it can change the timing of certain discussions. And that’s why I can confirm that there’s some movement around Nkunku.
“Fenerbahce is interested, and they’ve been in contact with Milan in recent days to understand the player’s situation.
“But from here to starting to get closer to closing the deal, to reaching an agreement with the player, that’s not a secondary issue. Pay attention to the player part, that’s the real crux of the Nkunku issue; we’ll also need to understand what the boy wants to do.
“From here to saying “Nkunku to Fenerbahce” is still a long way off. Nkunku has responded on the pitch with two goals that helped Milan win an important match.
“I can confirm that Fenerbahce remains interested. We’ll need to understand what the player wants to do in the next few days, especially based on how the next matches unfold, because in the meantime, Nkunku scores and takes over on the pitch.”
