Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic believes his side can cope with the favourites tag for this month’s African Cup of Nations.
The four-time African champions were held to a 1-1 draw against a depleted South African side in a warm-up game this week, sparking fears they may not be up to the task of winning another continental title in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.
But Stevanovic was optimistic that the game was helpful in enabling his side put themselves together ahead of the major game.
“I think that it was a very useful game for us after one week of very, very hard work here,” Stevanovic said.
“Some of the details were good. Defence, attack and how we organised the game. The players were tired a little, but I am sure for the game against Botswana, we will be 100 per cent.”
Ghana will play their final practice match against South African club Platinum Stars on Wednesday before travelling to Gabon on Friday.
