The New York Giants edged the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL on Sunday, while the New Orleans Saints held on to beat the Tennessee Titans.

Quarterback Eli Manning (27 of 47 for 400 yards and two touchdowns) led the Giants to a thrilling 37-34 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

At the end of regulation time, Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey had a 47-yard field goal attempt blocked as the Giants leapfrogged Dallas into top spot in NFC East.

Earlier, Bailey had converted a three-point attempt but the Giants had called a timeout just prior to his kick.

The Saints’ Drew Brees (36 of 47 for 337 yards and two touchdowns) joined Hall of Famer Johnny Unitas as the only quarterbacks to throw a touchdown pass in 40 straight games.

Rookie quarterback TJ Yates led a franchise-record 80-yard drive, ending in a six-yard throw to Kevin Walter, to help the Houston Texans to a 20-19 last-play win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Aaron Rodgers (17 of 30 for 281 yards and two touchdowns) ensured the Green Bay Packers remain on track for a perfect season as they made it 13 wins from as many games with a convincing 46-16 defeat of the Oakland Raiders.

Matt Ryan threw two fourth-quarter touchdown passes to rookie Julio Jones as the Atlanta Falcons recovered from a 16-point half-time deficit to overcome the Carolina Panthers 31-23.

Maurice Jones-Drew set a franchise record for career touchdowns after scoring four times in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 41-14 thrashing of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Michael Vick (15 of 30 for 208 yards and a touchdown) returned after missing three games with broken ribs as the Philadelphia Eagles won for just the second time in six games with a 26-10 victory against the Miami Dolphins.

Quarterback Tim Tebow led the Denver Broncos to another comeback victory as Matt Prater’s 51-yard field goal earned them a 13-10 overtime win against the Chicago Bears, while the San Diego Chargers remain in the playoff hunt after a 37-10 victory over the Buffalo Bills.

The New York Jets continued to keep pace in the AFC playoff race after beating the Kansas City Chiefs 37-10, while Tom Brady (22 of 37 for 357 yards and three touchdowns) impressed in the New England Patriots’ fifth straight win, a 34-27 defeat of the Washington Redskins.
