(GSM) – Portsmouth manager Avram Grant paid a heartfelt tribute to the club’s fans after beating Wolves 3-1 in the club’s final home game of the season.

The south coast side have endured a turbulent season, flirting with going out of business, eventually entering administration and having nine points deducted as they suffered relegation to the Championship.

However Grant, who has guided the team to an FA Cup Final against his former club Chelsea later this month, believes the club’s future remains bright.

He went on to the pitch after the final whistle to address the crowd, “If anyone in the world wants a lesson about passion and commitment, then Fratton Park is the place.

He continued, “They can take points from us, put an embargo on us, but they cannot destroy our spirit – never!

“On May 15, each one of us, players, staff and fans can be very proud to come to Wembley with a sign ‘we did it, we did it’,” Pompey boss emotionally said.
