Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has voiced his satisfaction with his team’s 4-1 Bundesliga win over Werder Bremen on Saturday.
The Bavarians had lost their previous two league games, but returned to winning ways at the Allianz Arena against Bremen, much to the delight of the Borussia Monchengladbach legend.
“I’m relieved that we bagged the full three points. We had a really good team out there today,” Heynckes told the club’s official website.
“We were clearly in the groove, and our communication was excellent.”
“Every player got back and helped in defence. It’s very important for us to be top of the league.”
The Bayern boss then took the time to praise Netherlands international Arjen Robben, who netted twice against the Green-Whites as he continues his recovery from injury.
“Once Arjen Robben came on, the team played to its potential and gave a terrific response to a totally unnecessary equaliser.”
Bayern have climbed back to the top of the table following this weekend’s results with 31 points from 15 games.
