Sudan coach Mohamed Abdallah has announced his final 23-man squad for the 2012 African Cup of Nations on Thursday.
With a 3-0 international friendly loss to Tunisia on Monday, Abdallah axed six players from his provisional roster before sending in his official list to the Confederation of Africa Fooball (CAF) on Wednesday.
Unlike all other teams at the tournament, hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, Sudan will be the only one drawing players exclusively from their domestic league.
They are looking to replicate the form that saw them progress to the semi-finals of the 2011 Africa Championship of Nations tournament they hosted in January 2011.
Despite looking unusually out of sorts during the loss against Tunisia on Monday, captain Haitham Mustafa was retained in the squad. The Al Hilal player only recently returned to national-team setup after reconciling differences with coach Abdallah.
Sudan share Group B with the Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Angola. They face the former in their tournament opener, on January 22.
Full squad: Akram Al Hadi (Al Merreikh), Bhaldien Mohammed (Al Merreikh), Mouez Mohjob (Al Hilal); Ngemaldien Abdullah (Al Merreikh), Khaliefa Ahmed (Al Hilal), Siefaldien Ali (Al Hilal), Ahmed Al Basha (Al Merreikh), Mowaia Bashir (Ittihad Madani), Bala Jaber (Al Merreikh), Mosab Omar (Al Merreikh), Mohammed Ahmed Bashir (Al Hilal), Baderaldien Aldoud (Al Merreikh), Mohamed Al Tahir (Al Hilal), Nazer Hamed (Al Hilal), Amier Kamal (Al Merreikh), Mohammed Moussi (Al Nsoor), Faisal Musa (Al Merreikh), Haitham Mustafa (Al Hilal), Alaadine Yousif (Al Hilal); Ramadan Alagab (Al Mourada), Abdulrahman Hassan (Al Merreikh), Eltaib Mudather (Al Hilal), Mohammed Sheikh Eldin (Al Hasahesa).
