Aston Villa are on the verge of signing Jadon Sancho from Premier League rivals Manchester United on the final day of the summer transfer window, according to TBR.
Sancho is out of contract at Man Utd at the end of the season, with Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim not having the English winger in his plan at all. While AS Roma and Napoli wanted to sign the winger, his huge demands could not be met by the two Serie A clubs.
Villa and Man Utd now have a loan agreement in place, with TBR journalist Graeme Bailey revealing how Marcus Rashford played a role. Rashford spent the second half of last season on loan at Villa and joined Barcelona on a season-long loan deal in the summer of 2025.
Bailey told TBR: “I am told that Sancho has spoken to Marcus Rashford before completing this deal – he wanted to make sure about the lie of the land.
“And Rashford was glowing in his support of the move. He told him what to expect, and that has played a part in Sancho deciding to make this move.”
