January 17th: Saturday’s Premier League Accumulator – 4/1 Special, Betting Tips & Analysis

With England’s elite turning their attention back to Premier League action this weekend, we have a stacked schedule from up and down the country.

With Manchester bragging rights up for grabs at Old Trafford Saturday lunchtime, we also have a pair of fiery London derbies from the capital.

With seven top-flight showdowns pencilled in on Saturday afternoon, we have taken a glance at some of the most attractive Premier League betting tips.

Saturday, January 17th

BST 12:30 Manchester United vs Manchester City

Although Manchester City might have seen their Premier League title dreams take a major blow earlier in the month as they opened the New Year with three consecutive draws, Pep Guardiola’s men claimed an essential boost over the past week.

Getting their EFL Cup semi-final adventure underway with a rugged 2-0 victory away at Newcastle, the former Barcelona boss will be dreaming of a repeat performance here.

Facing what is a must-win showdown when they travel to Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime, the Sky Blues should also be excited by their reverse battle against United.

Cruising their way to a routine 3-0 romp when they welcomed their arch-rivals to the Etihad back on September 14th, it should also be highlighted that City have suffered just a sole Premier League defeat in the red half of Manchester since way back in March 2020.

Getting Saturday’s heavyweight battle underway sat six points adrift of Arsenal, Guardiola’s men have plenty of pressure on their shoulders.

While Michael Carrick might have officially made his temporary return to Old Trafford on Tuesday, the former Middlesbrough boss has a major job on his hands in an attempt to steady the ship at Old Trafford.

Ending Ruben Amorim’s 14-month reign at the helm earlier in the month following a 1-1 stalemate against historic foes Leeds, the Red Devils have once again shown a string of glaring inconsistencies.

Playing out three consecutive Premier League stalemates on either side of opening the New Year, United have come tumbling down the table and will once again be bracing themselves for a stern examination here.

Mustering just a single win from any of their previous seven appearances across all competitions, Saturday’s hosts have also gained an unwanted reputation for their glaring defensive struggles.

In fact, United have remarkably recorded just a sole clean sheet from any of their last 15 straight domestic showdowns.

Betting Tip: Antoine Semenyo over 0.5 shots on target @ 2/3

15:00 Tottenham vs West Ham

While there might have been plenty of excitement around the white half of north London following Thomas Frank’s arrival, Tottenham suddenly find themselves at the heart of yet another public crisis.

Watching their FA Cup adventure come to an end last weekend as they fell to a 2-1 loss at home against Aston Villa, the Danish tactician has come under a tremendous amount of scrutiny.

Suffering last-gasp heartbreak away at Bournemouth earlier in the month, Spurs have come free-falling down the Premier League table and have continued to show a string of glaring issues on either side of opening the New Year.

Getting 2026 underway with consecutive Premier League stalemates against Brentford and Sunderland, Saturday’s hosts have remarkably won just a pair of their previous 14 consecutive domestic appearances across all competitions – a rut that stems all the way back to October 26th.

However, despite their glaring issues over the past couple of months, Spurs will certainly be smelling a golden opportunity to claim both local bragging rights and an essential boost.

Suffering another infamous late collapse at the London Stadium last week as they fell to a 2-1 loss at the hands of Nottingham Forest, West Ham already have one-foot firmly in the Championship.

Breaking a string of unwanted records this season, it has even been suggested that another public defeat on Saturday afternoon could be the final nail in Nuno Espirito Santo’s east London coffin.

Opening their trip to north London sat seven points adrift of safety, the Hammers have collected just a single point from any of their previous six consecutive Premier League appearances.

Likewise, the former Wolves boss has not seen his downbeat squad register a single win from any of their last 10 straight showdowns against top-flight opposition (six defeats, four draws).

It should also be highlighted, the Hammers slumped to an infamous 3-0 drumming when they welcomed Spurs across the capital for their reverse Premier League battle on September 23rd.

Betting Tip: Tottenham win & Over 1.5 goals @ 11/10

15:00 Chelsea vs Brentford

Watching Enzo Maresca complete a messy divorce from Stamford Bridge on New Year’s Day, it has certainly been a rollercoaster few weeks behind the scenes in west London.

Although new boss Liam Rosenior might have got his tenure underway with a routine 5-1 FA Cup victory away at Championship outfit Charlton, the former Hull City boss saw his squad come crashing back down to earth on Wednesday night.

Failing to pick up an essential EFL Cup first-leg victory on home soil as they fell to an action-packed 3-2 loss at the hands of Arsenal, Chelsea have shown plenty of cause for concern on either side of opening the New Year.

Including a 2-1 loss away at bitter local rivals Fulham on January 7th, the Blues have now failed to win any of their last six consecutive showdowns against Premier League opposition.

It’s also worth noting, Rosenior’s side have shipped a pair of goals in each of their last three straight showdowns at Stamford Bridge.

While Brentford might have opened up the 2025/26 campaign with many expecting them to be at the heart of a relegation scrap, Keith Andrews’ camp have firmly cemented their spot as one of the Premier League’s ultimate surprise packages.

Last seen in top-flight action claiming a thumping 3-0 victory at home against Sunderland, Saturday’s guests find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high.

Relinquishing a trip across west London this weekend, the Bees are suddenly scrapping it out in the European chase and they have received a string of plaudits from up and down the country.

Along with registering 13 points from their previous five top-flight appearances, Brentford have not suffered a single Premier League defeat since the start of December.

With the two local foes playing out a thrilling 2-2 stalemate when they met for their reverse Premier League battle on September 13th, we are expecting another enjoyable contest here.
