January 31st: Saturday’s Premier League Double – 8/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

With England’s elite turning their attention back to Premier League action this weekend, we have a stacked Saturday schedule from up and down the country.

As Arsenal look to claim a domestic boost and extend their buffer at the top of the table, fellow English giants Chelsea will also steal centre stage.

Ahead of Saturday’s top-flight battles, we have taken a look at some of the most attractive Premier League betting tips.

15:00 Leeds vs Arsenal

Eventually falling to a remarkable 3-2 loss at home against bitter historic rivals Manchester United last weekend, Arsenal missed out on the opportunity to widen their buffer at the top of the Premier League table. Travelling to Yorkshire on Saturday afternoon holding just a four-point buffer over the chasing pack, Mikel Arteta’s men have registered just two points from their previous three top-flight showdowns. However, romping their way to a Champions League knockout stage ticket and signing off their 100% group stage record with an action-packed 3-2 win against European debutants Kairat Almaty, Arsenal will be excited by a dominant record against Saturday’s hosts. Landing a thumping 5-0 victory when they welcomed Leeds to north London for their reverse Premier League meeting on August 23rd, the Gunners have won all of their last seven straight meetings by an aggregate score of 22-5. Suffering just a sole domestic defeat on their travels so far this season, Arsenal will be desperate to avoid a potential banana skin in Yorkshire.

While Leeds might have found themselves at the heart of a public crisis on either side of November’s international break, Daniel Farke’s men have come roaring back in a rugged fashion. Despite suffering late frustration away at Everton earlier in the week as they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate on Merseyside, the former Norwich boss has seen his resurgent squad skyrocket themselves away from the drop zone. Last seen at Elland Road snatching a last-gasp 1-0 victory against Fulham, Leeds have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous 11 appearances across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to November 29th. It should also be highlighted, Farke’s side have registered 11 points from their last five Premier League showdowns in Yorkshire. Despite being pencilled in as a landslide underdog this weekend, Farke’s resurgent squad will be confident of asking some real questions.

17:30 Chelsea vs West Ham

While many might have been left shocked earlier in the month as Liam Rosenior was announced as Enzo Maresca’s replacement in west London, Chelsea are certainly relishing life under the ex-Strasbourg boss. Officially punching their Champions League Round of 16 ticket on Wednesday night as they secured a thrilling 3-2 victory away at Italian giants Napoli, the Blues will be confident of making another statement here. Getting Rosenior’s tenure underway with a 5-1 FA Cup victory away at Championship outfit Charlton on January 10th, Chelsea have won five of their first six appearances under the one-time Hull City manager. Likewise, securing a thrilling 3-1 win against Crystal Palace last weekend, Chelsea have also found a real clinical edge in the final third and they are rightfully installed as a standout contender here. It should also be highlighted, Saturday’s hosts have won all of their last four showdowns across all competitions by an aggregate score of 9-3.

Although West Ham might have enjoyed a real resurge over the past fortnight as they clinched back-to-back Premier League victories, Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have an almighty battle on their hands. With results once again going against them last weekend, the Hammers open Saturday’s fixtures sat five points adrift of top-flight safety. Breaking a string of unwanted records this season and rightfully coming under a huge amount of scrutiny, the former Nottingham Forest boss will be bracing himself for a stern examination this weekend. Remarkably failing to record a single Premier League clean sheet since Santo’s arrival at the London Stadium back in October, West Ham should also be concerned by their most recent showdowns against their historic rivals. Slumping to a nightmare 5-1 drumming when they welcomed Chelsea across the capital for their reverse Premier League battle on August 22nd, the Hammers will certainly be asked some serious questions here.
