January 7th: Wednesday’s Premier League Accumulator – 9/1 Special, Betting Tips & Analysis

With the Premier League action rolling onto Wednesday night, we have another stacked schedule from up and down the country.

As Manchester City look to make up some ground in the title chase, we have eight top-flight showdowns pencilled in.

Ahead of another dramatic night of Premier League action, we have taken a glance at some of Wednesday’s most attractive betting tips.

January, Wednesday 7th

BST 19:30 Manchester City vs Brighton

Suffering last-gasp heartbreak at home against Chelsea on Sunday evening as they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate, Manchester City have watched their Premier League title dreams take a major blow since opening the New Year.

Getting 2026 underway with a 0-0 stalemate away at top-flight returners Sunderland, Pep Guardiola’s men now find themselves sat six points adrift of runaway leaders Arsenal.

Facing what is a real must-win showdown on Wednesday night, Man City should also be concerned by their most recent showdown against the Seagulls.

Suffering a collapse at the Amex as they eventually fell to a 2-1 loss, Guardiola’s side could face a potential banana skin in midweek.

It should also be highlighted, the former Barcelona boss has not seen his squad suffer a single domestic defeat in front of their own supporters from any of their previous 10 outings (nine wins, one draw) – a run that stems back to the end of August.

Claiming what was an essential boost over the weekend as they got the New Year underway with a 2-0 victory at home against relegation scrappers Burnley, Brighton are desperately searching for some much-needed stability.

Watching their European dreams take a real dent on either side of November’s international break, Fabian Hurzeler’s side have registered just a single win from any of their previous seven Premier League appearances.

Likewise, last seen on their travels setting for a disappointing 2-2 stalemate away at West Ham, Brighton have shown some extended issues on the road.

Along with mustering just one-point from their last three showdowns away from the Amex, the former St. Pauli boss has also seen his squad muster just a sole win away from the Amex since the end of September.

Pencilled in as a major underdog contender in midweek, Brighton have also never recorded a single victory in the blue half of Manchester.

Betting Tip: Manchester City win & Both teams to score @ 8/5

19:30 Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa

While Aston Villa might have signed off 2025 with a 4-1 drumming away at leading title contenders Arsenal, Unai Emery’s men have certainly proven that downbeat display in north London was nothing more than a minor blip.

Claiming an immediate response over the weekend as they cruised their way to an empathic 3-1 victory at home against Nottingham Forest, the former PSG boss has seen his squad gain a string of plaudits from across the continent.

Knowing that they could leapfrog Manchester City into silver medal position, the Villains have remarkably won 12 of their previous 13 appearances across all competitions.

Shattering a string of records over the past few months and looking to make another statement on Wednesday night, Emery’s side are riding a major wave of momentum.

Continuing to claim a string of heavyweight domestic scalps this season, it is no secret that Aston Villa are almost universally regarded as a standout Europa League contender in 2026.

Although Crystal Palace might have enjoyed a sensational rise since Oliver Glasner’s arrival in south London two years ago, the Eagles have shown some real cause for concern over the past month.

Last seen over the weekend slumping to a 2-0 defeat away at Newcastle, Wednesday’s guests have seen their European dreams take a real blow.

Falling to a woeful 4-1 drumming at the hands of Leeds last month, there has also been plenty of speculation that Glasner could be the man to replace Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.

In fact, failing to win any of their previous seven appearances across all competitions, Palace are enduring their longest winless rut since the former Eintracht Frankfurt boss arrived at Selhurst Park.

Likewise, Palace have also failed to win any of their previous six straight showdowns in front of their own supporters – a run that stems back to before November’s international break.

Betting Tip: Aston Villa win @ 13/10

19:30 Everton vs Wolves

Mustering 12 points from their five Premier League showdowns on either side of November’s international break, the mood in David’ Moyes’ camp was certainly at a red-hot high.

However, despite entering the stacked festive schedule with their sights set on mounting a genuine European charge, the former West Ham boss is now searching for some essential stability.

Getting the New Year underway with an action-packed 4-2 defeat at home against Brentford over the weekend, the Blues have shown some real issues over the past month.

Despite signing off 2025 with a rugged 2-0 victory away at relegation scrappers Nottingham Forest, that is the only win that Everton have claimed from their previous five Premier League appearances.

It should also be highlighted, the Toffees have lost three of their previous four showdowns at the Hill Dickinson Stadium at they have sacrificed their spot in the top-half of the table.

Finally putting a maiden Premier League victory on the board last weekend as they opened the New Year with a thumping 3-0 victory at home against fellow strugglers West Ham, Wolves have shown some improvements over the past fortnight.

However, breaking a string of unwanted records this season and sat rock-bottom of the table, Rob Edwards’ men already have one foot firmly in the Championship and they have already accepted it would take an all-time miracle to keep hold of their Premier League status in 2026.

Coming under a huge amount of scrutiny and remarkably registering just six points from any of their 20 top-flight matchups, Wolves have also failed to record a single victory outside of the Midlands over the past past nine months.

Likewise, Edwards’ camp also fell to a 4-0 drumming when they last travelled to Merseyside back in December 2024.

Despite claiming a brief Premier League boost over the weekend, Wolves should face a rugged challenge on Wednesday night.

Betting Tip: Everton win @ 4/5
