Juan hesitates on European switch

Internacional defender Juan is unsure about a move to Europe in the January transfer window.

The talented 20-year-old has emerged as a transfer target for Inter as well as Serie A rivals Napoli, after an excellent 2011 season in which he lifted the Campeonato Gaucho and the Recopa Sudamericana with the Colorado.

He was also in the Brazil Under-20 squad which won both the South American Championships and World Cup at youth level.

On Monday Juan revealed that agent Giuliano Bertolucci had sold 65 per cent of his rights to Coimbra, a club which acts as a holding company for investors.

He added, however, that this move neither confirmed nor dismissed a possible move away from the Colorado.

“Coimbra is a club from Minas, with investors that pass through other clubs. I could stay at Inter or I could go elsewhere,” he told Globoesporte.

“It is the dream of any player to play in Europe. The interest from Inter is very flattering.”

The defender went on to say that he has not become impatient with the drawn-out nature of a possible switch and trusted his agent to make the best move for him.

“It has not become a frustration. I thought it was strange, but as Giuliano is my representative I know he is doing something great for me. Whether I go to another club or stay in Internacional, I am relaxed,” he said.
